ARTEBA 2014: SECCIONES, PROGRAMAS Y OPEN FORUM
Con el fin de mantener la calidad y profesionalidad de la feria, tanto las galerías establecidas como las emergentes son elegidas por distintos comités de selección o invitadas a participar por los curadores a cargo de secciones. Para responder a las distintas necesidades de las galerías, coleccionistas, museos y del público visitante, existen diferentes programas y secciones delimitadas en la feria con perfiles específicos.
- SECCIÓN PRINCIPAL
Participan galerías establecidas elegidas por un comité de selección autónomo que tiene a su cargo la evaluación de las aplicaciones de las galerías postulantes.

- CABINET – ¡NUEVO!
Cabinet es un sector destacado dentro del espacio de algunas galerías de la sección principal donde se exhibe una o varias obras de un único artista. El objetivo de los cabinets es resaltar obras relevantes, singulares y emblemáticas de artistas modernos y contemporáneos. Un comité consultor tiene a su cargo la elección de las galerías con un cabinet, a partir de las propuestas enviadas por las galerías participantes de la sección principal.

- DIXIT – ¡NUEVO!
Un curador invitado presenta una exhibición en la feria a partir de una hipótesis propia que trabaje sobre la contemporaneidad artística. Esta sección ofrece obras de artistas a museos y colecciones particulares a través de sus galerías.
En su edición inaugural la curadora, escritora e investigadora argentina Andrea Giunta presentará ¿Cuándo empieza el arte contemporáneo? Intervenciones desde América Latina.
- U-TURN PROJECT ROOMS
Un curador invita a galerías a participar con un proyecto específico de hasta tres artistas y selecciona específicamente cada obra que será exhibida.
U-TURN en 2014 estará curada por Agustín Pérez Rubio (historiador, crítico de arte, curador independiente. Ex Director del MUSAC, España).
- SOLO SHOW DE PINTURA LATINOAMERICANA
Un curador invita a seis artistas latinoamericanos para participar con un Solo Show –exhibición individual- junto a sus galerías. Una obra de cada uno compite, al mismo tiempo, por el premio adquisición de USD15.000 en el Concurso de Pintura Latinoamericana.
Solo Show en 2014 estará curada por José Roca (Curador Adjunto de Arte Latinoamericano Estrellita B. Brodsky de Tate Gallery de Londres y Director Artístico de FLORA ars+natura, espacio independiente de arte contemporáneo en Bogotá).
- PHOTOBOOTH – ¡NUEVO!
Por invitación de un curador, participan galerías presentando únicamente fotografías de artistas históricos y contemporáneos.
La edición inaugural de Photobooth en 2014 estará curada porOctavio Zaya (curador y editor de arte. Nacido en Islas Canarias, residente en USA desde 1978).
- BARRIO JOVEN
Participan galerías jóvenes con especial foco en el arte latinoamericano. La sección estimula el arte de producción reciente apoyando a los emprendimientos nuevos, diferentes o alternativos al esquema tradicional de exhibición y venta de obras de arte contemporáneo. Un comité de selección autónomo tiene a su cargo evaluar las aplicaciones de las galerías postulantes.

- ISLA DE EDICIONES
Un equipo curatorial invita a editoriales y publicaciones independientes a poner a disposición comercial del público, títulos y colecciones de libros que brinden soporte teórico e informativo sobre el arte contemporáneo.

- ESPACIOS INSTITUCIONALES
Participan museos, instituciones, fundaciones y empresas que tienen como fin difundir el arte contemporáneo.

PROGRAMA JOVENES CURADORES – ¡05/03 CIERRE DE CONVOCATORIA!
En un espacio expositivo de 100 m2 se presenta el proyecto ganador del Programa Jóvenes Curadores. Meses previos a la feria se abre una convocatoria abierta para curadores de joven trayectoria y un equipo curatorial elige al ganador que dispone de $50.000 pesos argentinos para la exhibición de su propuesta en arteBA.
PROGRAMA DE ADQUISICIONES
Museos, instituciones y empresas realizan importantes adquisiciones de obras de arte en las galerías participantes de arteBA.
PROGRAMA DE NETWORKING
Con la intención de estimular la creación de redes, alianzas y colaboraciones entre la escena artística argentina y la del exterior, curadores y directores de instituciones artísticas de todas partes del mundo son invitados a la feria para participar de sesiones personales y encuentros grupales con figuras del medio local. El Programa de Networking es una plataforma para el conocimiento y la interacción de los profesionales más influyentes del medio artístico actual.

OPEN FORUM
De entrada libre y gratuita y con acceso independiente al de la feria, el Open Forum es un foro de encuentro entre figuras líderes del medio artístico internacional, que enriquece desde la Argentina al debate en torno al arte contemporáneo.
La coordinadora del Prime Time en 2014 será Abaseh Mirvali (Productora y Curadora independiente. Irán/USA) quién tendrá a su cargo reunir a un grupo de profesionales para debatir La activación de públicos: estrategias y retos.

ARTEBA 2014: SECTIONS, PROGRAMS & OPEN FORUM
In order to preserve the quality and professionalism of the fair, established and emerging galleries are chosen by selection committees or, alternatively, invited by curators to participate in the various sections of arteBA. Together, these different sections and programs attempt to meet the varying needs of galleries, collectors, museums, and the viewing public.
MAIN SECTION
This section consists of established galleries chosen by an independent selection committee pursuant to review of their applications.

CABINET – NEW!
Cabinet is a specific area within the galleries booths in the main section of the fair. In CABINET, one or more works by a single artist is exhibited. The aim of the section is to show important, unique, or emblematic works by modern and contemporary artists. An advisory board determines which galleries are given a “cabinet” on the basis of proposals submitted by galleries included in the main section.

DIXIT – NEW!
A curator presents an exhibition on the basis of an original hypothesis on art now. This section will offer works by artists to museums and private collections through their galleries.
In this opening edition of DIXIT, Argentine curator, writer and researcher Andrea Giunta will present an exhibition entitled When does contemporary art begin? Interventions from Latin America.
U-TURN PROJECT ROOMS
A curator invites galleries to present a specific project featuring up to three artists and selects each work to be exhibited.
The 2014 editon of U-TURN will be curated by Agustín Pérez Rubio(historian, art critic, freelance curator, and former director of MUSAC, Spain).
SOLO SHOW OF LATIN AMERICAN PAINTING
At the invitation of a curator, six Latin American artists in conjunction with their galleries participate in Solo Show in which one work by each artist competes for a purchase prize of USD15,000 in the Latin American Painting Competition.
The 2014 edition of Solo Show will be curated by José Roca (Estrellita B. Brodsky Adjunct Curator of Latin American Art at the Tate Gallery of London and Artistic Director of FLORA ars+natura, an independent space for contemporary art in Bogota).
PHOTOBOOTH – NEW!
A curator invites galleries to present photographs by historical and contemporary artists.
The opening edition of Photobooth will be curated by Octavio Zaya(originally from the Canary Islands, Zaya is a curator and editor of art publications who has lived in the USA since 1978).
BARRIO JOVEN
This section is for new galleries focused on Latin American art. It encourages recent production and new enterprises whose approaches differ from the traditional system for the exhibition and sale of contemporary art. An independent selection committee assesses the applications of interested galleries.

ISLA DE EDICIONES
A team of curators invites independent presses and publishing houses to make available for public sale individual volumes and collections that provide theoretical support and information on contemporary art.

Participants in this program include museums, institutions, foundations, and private companies geared to promote contemporary art.

YOUNG CURATORS PROGRAM - 03/05 DEADLINE FOR SUBMISSIONS!A 100-square-meter area of the fair houses the wining project of the Young Curator Program competition. Months before the fair, an open call for submissions geared to young curators is launched. A team of curators chooses the winning project, for which a sum of AR$50,000 is made available for production in the context of arteBA.

ACQUISITION PROGRAM
Museums, institutions, and private companies make major acquisitions from the galleries participating in arteBA.
NETWORKING PROGRAM
In the interest of encouraging the formation of networks and alliances, and furthering collaboration between the art scene in Argentina and abroad, curators and directors of art institutions from around the world are invited to the fair to participate in personal and group meetings with major figures on the Argentine art scene. The Networking Program is a platform for exchange of knowledge and interaction between the most influential professionals on the art scene today.

OPEN FORUM
The Open Forum section, which is open to the public free of charge via an alternative entrance to the fair, is a venue where leading international figures in the art world come together to enrich debates on contemporary art.
The coordinator of the 2014 edition of Prime Time is Abaseh Mirvali(producer and freelance curator, Iran/USA). She will bring together a group of professionals to engage in debate on Activating Audiences: Strategies and Challenges. |
